Really interesting piece in BMJ. Promoted by @trishgreenhalgh bmj.com/content/386/bm… We ignore this research at the cost of patient safety (and vicarious liability). PATIENTS DESERVE BETTER

Love how music connects us all

Just the PM showing up as this young choir rehearses in the Welsh parliament. Not a contrived photo-op, just Sir Keir being a good bloke.

"If others won't lead, we will." Today @DrPhilBanfield announced we are launching legal action against the GMC, over MAPs and the use of the term ‘medical professionals’. Here's why ⬇️📣 #ARM2024

There is nothing 'junior' about junior doctors. This afternoon #ARM2024 recognises this and has voted through proposals to rename to “RESIDENT DOCTORS” from September 2024. More details to follow... #RDC coming soon!

There's not long until the polls open on 4 July. To ensure party leaders listen to doctors' views on MAPs this general election, join me and add your name to the BMA's open letter to party leaders. It only takes a few minutes! #PatientsNeedDoctors #GE2024 activism.bma.org.uk/page/152052/pe…

Important message below but infuriating #AI field has to 'discover' this rather than being guided by long-standing stats literature eg, onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/si… by @GSCollins says: 'Categorising continuous predictors is ... inefficient & should not be used in model development'

AI models perform better when trained on underlying measurements rather than the associated diagnoses, because dichotomizing data loses information that is useful in training AI models. Read the Case Study by @amey_vrudhula, BS, et al.: nejm.ai/3PjiqeI
