That's it! I had a fantastic time at my first AGM. After such a challenging year, it has been moving and uplifting to hear colleagues speak so passionately about education in Scotland. So lucky to be part of this profession and @EISUnion #EISAGM21

These are our turbulent times, colleagues, but we will emerge from them; it’s our challenge to ensure that Scotland and Scottish Education emerge to a better, more equitable, more socially just landscape. Thank you for your contribution to that struggle, colleagues. #EISAGM21

Let me pay tribute to the campaign of @EISFela around the defence of lecturer professionalism & more particularly to the members at FVC for their sustained strike action on the same principle. They deserve a virtual round of applause for their courageous stand. #EISAGM21

Why is it that one Local Authority agrees to pregnant staff working from home and others don’t; why do some provide CO2 monitors and others not? Teachers across the country do the same job and should have equal treatment from their employers. #EISAGM21

COSLA’s report card over this past year would certainly read “could do better.” The treatment of supply teachers is just one example. #EISAGM21

The Cabinet Secretary said she would “encourage” local authorities to address that but frankly that isn’t good enough – we need regulation to make it happen. #EISAGM21

We now need to see that delivered and delivered quickly, and, in the process we need to end the scandal of 1 in 10 teachers being on temporary contracts or worse, zero hours supply lists #EISAGM21

The importance of the teacher, the importance of school and education, to our society and to the common weal, are absolutely critical and that need has rarely been clearer. #EISAGM21

Your dedication, your selfless sense of duty, and above all your sheer professionalism have been veritable lifeboats in these turbulent times for our young people. #EISAGM21

If we had training on neurodivergence, neurotypical adults would have a better understanding of the issues affecting neurodivergent individuals. #EISAGM21

Not all neurodivergent individuals regard themselves as disabled. This is why we are calling for a network just for them so they can raise with the union the issues that are specific to them. - Marly Maley #EISAGM21
