Thoughts Of A Mad Midlevel

@MidlvlThoughts

We solved many health issues. What's holding patients back are their animal brains. Their lizard brain that gets hooked on sugar.

There's probably a correlation between having fibromyalgia, and being an insufferable person.

Most people say they understand what their bodies are telling them... But they're lying. Their bodies are screaming and they're choosing to ignore it. Obesity, diabetes, etc

If you really wanted to kill yourself you'd just do it. You wouldn't admit it to me so I place a psych hold on you. You should know better after doing this several times. It's just a cry for help and you aren't willing to change anything.

Everyone wants to pass the responsibility... especially HR.

I don't think everyone got into medicine to help others: Job security and money played a big part.

Keeping some drugs as prescription only may be preventing more of the population from reaching their potential. Metformin being the first thought.

The letters at the end of our name doesn't indicate our overall competence...just that we didn't piss off our preceptors or program faculty too much, and passed a multiple choice test. And we didn't have to get a 100% on that test either.

I've said to the nearly everyone who finds out I'm a midlevel: I can solve 80-90% of your shit if you just lose weight. BP, diabetes, heart dz, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis etc...weight is a common denominator and why tf are you overweight? Hmm I wonder...

At the end of the day, we answer to a court of law. HR thinks we answer to them and their feelings

Some people were just born unlucky. Huntington's, Marfan syndrome, etc

BP management is incredibly important, but without physically feeling any change...no one cares. Until they stroke out, and by then it may be too late.

Most patients would rather harm themselves in the long run for a short term comfort. In respiratory failure? Too bad, pts wants their xanax and dilaudid

People say they aren't expecting a magic pill... but they are.
