MSU students have begun a sit in at the Michigan Capitol following the shooting at MSU, sitting in the same formation they would for lockdown drills at school.

We are grateful for the work of first responders across our region and state, and to the medical professionals who immediately rushed to aid the victims. Mass shootings across America — and now here in our backyard — are senseless, tragic, and above all, preventable.
