Not happy with how your season ended? Look back on all you did or didn’t do before this season. Did you get in the gym & work on your body? Did you put up thousands of shots? Did you track your coach down to watch film? Your offseason starts now…it’s up to YOU to improve.
Players: the LAST person you should be listening to during a game is your parents in the stands…if they are trying to coach you, telling you to “SHOOT IT,” I would politely ask them to keep quiet or sit in the car. In a game, you should only hear your coaches & your teammates.

During practice, selfless teammates will momentarily put aside their friendships & compete against each other because they care about the team’s success in competition! Practice the way you play! It’s never personal. It’s just necessary for true preparation. Competing IS caring!

If you want to MAKE plays, then don’t miss practice, workouts, extra reps, meals, film, etc. As Navy Seals say ”Under pressure you don’t rise to the occasion. You sink to the level of your training.” You don’t fall victim to pressure. You fall victim to your lack of preparation!

It is the job of the coach to control shot selection. Poor shot selection is the result of a lack of discipline. Don't complain about it if you don't control it. Define roles & you shouldn't have an issue. Lack of structure & discipline will get you beat more often than not!

Form shooting is important before every individual practice. Most don't do it because their ego gets in the way.

It’s an epidemic. I beg parents and fans: Stop yelling at the refs. What do you think you have to gain? Does screaming and complaining about calls/non-calls make up for the lack of something in your life? Just watch and cheer for your team. HS basketball is at a low point.
