‘E2-E4’ by Manual Göttsching remains an astounding piece of work. Recorded in 1981, it was an electronic minimalist masterpiece which laid the groundwork for the techno and house music revolution years later. His work with Ash Ra Tempel was almost equally foundational. RIP.
