The older I get the more easily I could be talked into the view that Hateful Eight is QT's best movie because it's the only one where the violence is fundamentally ugly and makes you feel bad
imho I think the Scorsese comment resonates because it illuminates QT's own art and thinking. He loves violence (both aesthetically and politically), and has an oft-stated preference for youthfulness/energy over more contemplative kinds of cinema, so is less excited by Late Marty

Very basic observation, but something I loved about “Bugonia” is the good visual choice that even when the two are conversing in the same physical space, they are extremely rarely in the same shot. Because they do not share the same reality.

This is without a doubt the WORST Best Picture winner I've ever seen and probably the WORST film I've ever seen winning any kind of Oscar. I was dumbfounded, disgusted and appalled on levels I haven't experienced in years. I will never watch another Sean Baker movie EVER again!
