This Trump statement is a perfect monument to his imbecility, ignorance and poor taste. Lee is gone. Washington and Lee stripped his name off the chapel he is buried under. There will never be a monument to Trump. History will judge him harshly and brutally.

What is remarkable is Trump won't do this himself so his allies are giving him praise for vaccine as method of getting others to get the jab. He's made more comments complaining he gets no credit for the vaccine than urging people to avail themselves of it.

It's similar to what he did throughout the Mueller investigation...except Trump's advisers did not think there was a strong likelihood of charging a sitting president. Vance's office is still investigating Trump, and there's no longer a shield from prosecution.
Trump has been complaining to people about his lawyers for several weeks, as he did throughout his presidency, and part of the public statements that his own lawyers were making was that he wanted someone "out there." Tonight he did it himself.
