Kia ora rawa atu to everyone who has been in touch about entering the #2022Ngaios. It's shaping up to be another terrific year celebrating #yeahnoir and our local authors. Entries are open for Best First Novel and Best First Novel, until 17 March, for books published during 2021.

We all go a little mad sometimes. (Psycho, incidentally, is a rare example of film surpassing book. The book is lousy.)

.@JamesLeeBurke’s kindness and humanity are palpable in his writing.

I am lucky to have a father who told me I could do and be anything I set my mind to, and taught me always to be kind. Happy Father’s Day, @JamesLeeBurke !

Dear people citing The Bible: It’s a cool book with some wonderful passages but it also has ghost sex & giants & super babies & demons. It’s why we don’t make laws based on Game of Thrones, My Little Pony or Legend of Zelda.

A magnificent book with a bittersweet backstory - and there will be a sequel of sorts, @Billyjensen says.

My take on the true crime book everyone's talking about #michellemcnamara #goldenstatekiller #truecrime Book Review: I'll be gone in the dark, via @nzherald nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/…

Richly deserved.

Thrilled to see THE FORCE shortlisted for the IAN FLEMING STEEL DAGGER (for thriller writing). I want to thank the Crime Writers' Association and congratulate the other nominees. thecwa.co.uk/the-daggers/

New Zealand saw him first.

Heartening to see such enthusiasm among book buyers. Thank you for your promotional efforts on FIRE AND FURY, @realDonaldTrump.

Midnight line for FIRE AND FURY at @kramerbooks in DC. Well done, Charles Harder and @realDonaldTrump.
