I think that the internet has exposed that a hell of a lot of people simply do not have a theory of mind and are also deeply, DEEPLY self-centered, and so to them, characters and other humans are functionally the same.

as long there are no real kids included, I don't care what the characters do. I have my squicks and if I see something that makes me upset I just wont watch it.
but like... we already have cartoons of fictional kids doing sexual stuff? South Park has existed for a long time, Rick and Morty where 14 year old morty has already 2 kids, Big Mouth etc. Those shows are age rated accordingly and voice actors are adults.

I just have to ask, why is pedophilia the first thing y'all think of? Why don't you apply this line of thought to crime drama shows of murder? Or video games like GTA? It's not any different as they're not real.
Are there real child actors playing out the scene? Then there's a problem morally and legally. Are they just drawings, while it's adult voice actors voicing the characters as per usual? Then it's icky at worst. The line is whether real-life kids are being harmed or not.
