Why I quit Refereeing, Respect; specifically the lack of it. Yesterday, during what I later decided would be my last game, I had a minute long negotiation with a player about where to take a free kick for an offside offence. Until I told him to retreat the 15yrds of be booked.

Yesterday, I made the decision to hang up my whistle. To my now former colleagues of the Refereeing community, I wish you well for the future. But for me, after ten years I’ve decided that the time is right to quit before I come to hate the sport.
