When the roads are snowy and icy, the very best thing you can do is stay home. However, if you absolutely must drive, it's better to be prepared. For more safety tips for driving in inclement winter weather, visit the NHTSA: nhtsa.gov/winter-driving…
Good morning all & OTD in 1931, Sir Isaac Alfred Isaacs, former Justice of the High Court, is sworn in as the first Australian-born & Jewish Governor-General of Australia. One of the outstanding legal minds of his era, Isaacs helps steer Australia through the Depression.
The purpose of eliminating mandatory minimums (and these are short 1-3 year mandatory sentences, not life) is so that some of those convicted of these crimes won't serve time. Why? I'm not certain who voted for this, but "soft on crime" won't win elections.
Democrats in Virginia have introduced a bill to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing for rape, manslaughter, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession and distribution of child pornography, and all repeat violent felonies.
The basic problem is that the left does not realize the right wins elections not because of their shitty far-right beliefs, but because the left has abdicated the common sense center. Secure borders Criminals are bad Police are good Men shouldn't compete in women's sports
I'm so tired of this centrist bullshit Dem party favorability is low because Dems hate our do-nothing centrist party leadership! Back in reality, more people ID as Democrats than in decades!
As a supporter of the Latin Patriarch - whose existence and flock go back to the Apostles - I would caution allowing American evangelicals (whose knowledge of basic Christian history is reliably abysmal) to judge Christians who have to negotiate a precarious situation daily.
1/ Roger Severino, Vice President of Domestic Policy at The Heritage Foundation, posted this: “Before people make strong statements about Christian Zionism they would do well to ask the continuous Christian community in the Holy Land what they think about it first.” He linked…
Don Lemon thinks the Constitution gives you a right to trespass and disrupt religious services. First rate idiocy.
NEW: Don Lemon tries lecturing a pastor on the First Amendment after a mob of far leftists stormed a church in Minneapolis. Pastor: “This is unacceptable. It's shameful to interrupt a public gathering of Christians in worship…” Lemon: “Listen, there's a constitution, the First…
How can it be that the "New Yorker," said to be the most fact checked magazine in the world, can be so often and so egregiously factually wrong?
What a bizarre conclusion from the New Yorker. There were at least three other subway violent self-defense actions, two fatal, dating from the Goetz incident to 1990 alone. And just between 2023 and 2024, we had four subway deaths adjudicated as self-defense. Two things can be…

There is no right to interrupt a church service to protest. You are violating the rights of your fellow citizens when you do. It's inexcusable, and vital for MN authorities to protect the right of people to peacefully worship.
"[With standardized testing] brilliant people from normal backgrounds could out-compete the elite.... [Now they] give the spots that used to go to top students to the kinds of applicants who can do gap years in Buddhist monasteries."
The SAT used to be a test designed for drawing distinctions among top students. Each section was scored on an 800 scale with a 100 point standard deviation, which meant the test dedicated as much of its range to the top 2% of students as it did to the middle two thirds. Today,…

Yes, the other mythical archetype of The Streetwise New Yorker Who Moves To Another Car To Avoid Being Murdered On the Subway. Sure, yeah, but in any given year in the 80s, at least a dozen other people *were* murdered on the subway, apparently cuz they were too dumb to move to…

Oh man, Hanania is right. Heritage’s ad is perfectly fine modern conservative, “we may be different races and faiths, but we all believe in country, military service, family and god etc etc” But the comments are NOT happy about that different races stuff!
Look at the comments. They're mad about Jewish and non-white faces. That's it! Heritage tried to give them an ad that hit all the "trad" buttons. Heterosexual Christian families, those who serve in the military, family meals, etc. It doesn't matter. This is who Kevin Roberts…

This didn't used to happen ever. Really. Not even on the "bad" lines . Police the L. It's not oppression. It's not optional. _All_ safe neighborhoods are policed. Because people be wild. (No, not all people)
Responses to that post are brutal. "I have only had 1 incident in the past year". Zero comprehension in most cities in the world you would never have any violent incident on transit.
This was and indeed would be the winning strategy for Democrats. Also the right thing to do. Because criminals hurt people. And 90% of voters are against criminals, regardless of but also considering their immigration status.
Suburbs are pro-family. Car dependence is anti-family. It's not simple, folks.
Periodic reminder that the rise of car-dependent suburbia is NEGATIVELY correlated with fertility Throwing more suburban sprawl at fertility problem is a fool’s errand
Of course I’m taking it seriously, and stop calling me Shirley.
