“Sometimes a defeat is the secret ingredient to success.”- Conor McGregor. Just because you fail, doesn’t mean you’re destined to be a failure. Use it to learn and get better. Make it your secret ingredient for success.
Comparison is the thief of joy. You are not the person you’re comparing yourself to. You don’t come from the same situation and you will progress differently. Don’t compare your day 1 to someone else’s day 500.
There’s a Japanese proverb that goes, “After a win, tighten your helmet.” In other words, don’t get complacent. Keep preparing whether things are going poorly or well. When they’re going well, something bad is probably around the corner. Be ready.
When you have an idea, aim to fail the elevator test. If it can be summarized in a short elevator ride, it probably isn’t your most creative idea.
Polina Marinova Pompliano discusses how she believes that everyone in history has a hidden genius. It’s just a matter of finding it. Embrace your individuality and take a deep dive into the subject of you. And then ask: What’s your hidden genius?

5 habits high performers all share: 1. They optimize their time 2. They are happy with who they are now but never satisfied. 3. They are continuous learners. 4. They rely on discipline, not motivation. 5. They don’t care about others’ opinions. Which do you need?
The best performers invest in themselves for the long term. Your future self will pay for whatever you decide today. Do you want that person to be happy or sad? Invest in you today.
Instead of asking what you need to do in order to get better, ask yourself what you need to eliminate. Oftentimes it's not the absence of action, but the excess of action that is holding you back. So what do you need to eliminate in your life?
Expect adversity. If you always expect things to go perfectly, you're in for a rude awakening. Prepare for things to go wrong so you don't panic when they do.
One of the best ways to learn and grow is to recognize that you don't know everything and you aren't perfect. When you realize this, you will feel free from the shackles that have been holding you back. Check the ego and get to growing.
Just because someone makes something look easy, that doesn't mean it is. It took that person years of practice to make it look that easy. Respect the hustle and find your "easy."
Michael Jordan got cut from his high school basketball team. Bill Gates dropped out of college. Jerry Seinfeld was booed off stage in his first comedy routine. Just because you're not where you want to be now doesn't mean you won't be. It's a process. Don't do it all at once
Matt Damon said that oftentimes good ideas come from compiling multiple bad ideas together. Don't be afraid to think of bad ideas. They'll probably lead to good ones over time. It's part of the creative process.
What's the scariest part of a rollercoaster? Going up before the first drop. After that, it's not scary. The scariest part of anything is the anticipation of it. That anticipation can cripple you if you let it. Go through the scary. It's probably not as bad as you think.
Struggle to get out of negative thinking? Ask yourself these three questions at the end of the day: 1. What was the best part of your day? 2. What did you learn? 3. What are you going to do better tomorrow? To think positively you need to flex your positive muscles.

My junior year of college my ERA was 17.35 🤮 Why was it so bad? Because I fell victim to the paradox of the product goal. I.e, the more I focused on it, the worse it got. Here’s what I learned that year that might help you if you’re struggling on the mound: @FlatgroundApp
