SDLP Leader Claire Hanna MP attended the inauguration of Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly at Dublin Castle today. The Presidency is more than a symbol. It has the power to convene, to heal and to bring people together.
The DUP’s moral standard cannot be the baseline for this place. Ministers were elected to serve people and improve lives, not to coast through office without accountability.
Paul Givan has shamed his office - so the SDLP are signatories to today's no-confidence motion. But we know the DUP will block censure- so the SDLP Opposition is also pushing for reform of our broken rules so that rule-breaking ministers can't forever avoid sanction.
Live in Fermanagh or Tyrone? SDLP Leader Claire Hanna MP will be joining us on November 27th at 6PM at The Enniskillen Hotel! Come along join the conversation! Bring your family and engage and ask questions! Everybody welcome 📆 Nov 27th ⏰ 6PM - 7PM The Enniskillen Hotel
People are disconnected from Stormont. The culture war rows are hiding the fact there is no delivery and no vision from this Executive.
"We're talking about the deaths of tens of thousands." @ClaireHanna tells @MarkCarruthers7 that @paulgivan has failed to acknowledge why some people are upset about his visit to Israel...
Opposing genocide should never be an "orange vs green" issue. Our Education Minister has a moral duty to stand with children, not with those bombing their schools. @CaraHunterMLA
We will not allow discussion of genocide in Palestine to be shut down.

Whether it’s propaganda trips to Israel, voting to leave human rights frameworks or months of stoking racial tension, political Unionism’s only strategy seems to be division. People aren’t buying it anymore. They want decency, hope and leadership that delivers.
The message from City Hall today was loud and clear – Paul Givan must go! No Education Minister should travel to spread Israeli propaganda and visit occupied Palestinian land while thousands of children are being killed and schools destroyed. Solidarity with the people of…
Paul Givan should resign. No Education Minister should visit a school in illegally occupied East Jerusalem. People are rightly appalled. This is a question of ethics and accountability. @MatthewOToole2
The British Government has revealed following questions I asked that they have paid £4.3m in legal fees and support for Soldier F since 2019. For comparison, the victims of the people he killed have had to fund their own challenges.
As children die daily in Gaza, the DUP Education Minister poses in Israel. The SDLP will be seeking answers in the Assembly. @CaraHunterMLA
There is huge anger at Paul Givan's appalling propaganda trip to Israel, but especially his use of official departmental resources to promote it. I have written today to the Head of the Civil Service for urgent answers on who permitted this and why. (1/2)
Completely unacceptable intimidation of councillors, in Newry Mourne & Down in recent weeks, Dublin and now Newtownabbey. Past time for regulation of the social media that is puffing up these thugs (inc this very platform)
A mayor has told how she was shoved with a placard outside a council meeting which also saw several other councillors "verbally accosted and physically intimidated" belfastlive.co.uk/news/mayor-sho…
Paul Givan's propaganda junket to Israel after the killing of thousnads of kids is an appalling thing to do, even for someone who relishes giving offence. Especially concerning is the use of civil service resources to publicise it. Is @HeadNICS providing any oversight? (1/4)
