Great article. @DavidJoffe64 quote, "please do not psychologise ME/CFS or Long Covid...this is a direct organic, neurological condition, with a plethora of complex outcomes, including severe consequences for autonomy and quality of life." 1/6 bps.org.uk/psychologist/w…

Today is a great day! The new Novavax formula has been approved. Today is an awful day because - as things stand - no province has ordered Novavax.

Health Canada received a submission from Novavax on June 26, 2024. After a thorough scientific review Health Canada has approved the company’s JN.1 Variant vaccine. Learn more: ow.ly/2OJK50Tr7uz #Covid19

Hey therapists, stop saying that being COVID cautious is a mental illness. It's normal to not want to catch a virus that could damage your organs. Just because you don't know what it's like to live in a body that can't keep you safe doesn't mean not wanting to get sick is wrong.

This is Canada. A white woman with the Jewish Defense League, an outside agitator to @occupyuoft at the People’s Circle for Palestine, tells an Indigenous woman drumming and singing—on Red Dress Day—to “get out of our country.” Settler colonialism is a structure, not an event.

Of all the covid research that has never made it into the mass media, the stuff about how a covid infection, even a mild one, ages a person biologically might be the most stunning

Winding down the response because the province refuses to continue funding is one thing. But this celebratory, “mission accomplished,” self-congratulatory spin in the middle of a significant wave, while Ontario has the lowest up to date provincial vax rate is pretty dystopian.

1/5 Today marks the end of an era as we wind down our emergency #COVID19 pandemic response & officially close the doors to our vaccination clinics. 🎉

The Chief Scientist of Canada is correctly drawing attention to these staggering new research findings, which make it crystal clear that continual COVID reinfection is not a long-term strategy for a functional society.

Even mild cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection are at risk of becoming long covid, and these results suggest the threat increases with multiple infections. (1/3) www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/75-006-…

Covid isn't about symptoms – it's about *how often and to what viral load* you're exposed There's no longterm immunity against it and vascular, neurological and immune-disruptive effects on your body are *cumulative* Vax, ventilate, mask, test It's not flu, it's SARS 2

An expansive musing thread on mask non-use, which I am now calling "mask akinesia". Every class I teach, I walk in with my mask and my Aranet4 CO2 detector, to measure air quality. I'm lucky: the rooms I teach in are always below 800ppm and often below 700ppm. 1/20
