Indie iOS dev in Swift 🚀 Learning out loud, building in public 💡 Goal: ⏳ $100 MRR → $500 MRR → $1k MRR
iOS Indie Dev Journey Starting from scratch. $0 MRR. First Goal: $100 MRR 💸 This is Day 1. No revenue yet, but the vision is clear. Building, shipping, learning, growing - one line of code at a time. Let’s see where this goes 🚀 #buildinpublic #iosdev
Talking on Reddit about how hard it is to make money with apps - got a RevenueCat payment notification mid-thread. Universe has a sense of humor. 🤣
It’s wild how invisible something can feel right before it starts being seen
wake up tell yourself “today I’ll market” end up refactoring button styles convince yourself it was essential refresh analytics still nearly $0MRR get one new user it’s your mum go to sleep
My unfair advantage? Doubt was the background noise I learned to tune out
Myth: you need a US SIM + US Apple account to reach US viewers on TikTok. Reality: I’m based in the UK and just used a VPN
So many people vibe code their apps these days, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc. But as a dev, I’m wondering how do non-tech folks manage once the project gets bigger? Gluing code together, design patterns, refactors… AI still sucks at that part
And there it is mine little app too, props to the creator @david_attisaas for building this!
Just entered the TikTok arena. Expect chaos, experiments, and maybe a few accidental hits.
Rejected: missing in-app purchases. Fixed it, resubmitted. App approved In-app purchases? Still in review. The paywall is more exclusive than the app itself. I don’t really get the Apple Review logic.
First sale always hits different, only $3 but it’s huge milestone for me
I made an app for editing screenshots. I first wanted it to be an editor for everyone, but it slowly turned into a niche tool just for iOS developers. It never really took off, only a few free trials, but I’ve learned one thing: define your audience before you start building.
Dear iOS AI wrapper devs, I was just playing around with ProxyMan and found a few of your “private” API keys waving hello. 👋🔑 If I can see it, everyone can. Move secrets server-side, use short-lived tokens, and lock it down. Love, another dev 😊
Curious if experienced devs (I’ve got ~4 yrs myself) actually let AI run the whole app… or just use it for boilerplate & low-level stuff? Not talking vibe coders here.
First launch spike is always fun to watch. 🚀 Apple boost + a few posts = downloads up… and then reality kicks in 📉
I love building UI, but I’m terrible at designing it. Does that make sense?
Would you use (or pay for) an app that shows your bin collection schedule and sends you reminders so you never forget to put it out for pickup? It currently has ~400 downloads, 95% in the UK. I’m thinking about expanding it
Dusting off another side project today It’s been quietly sitting in the App Store for 4 months, pulling ~400 downloads/month… all 100% free. Now it’s time to ship some user-requested features and think about paywall in near future
