Even with a ceasefire seemingly hours away, #Israel just sent out 20 bombing notices for #Beirut’s suburbs in less than 20 minutes and IDF jets are now absolutely pounding the city with air strikes. The skyline is a wall of thick grey smoke. These are all civilian neighbourhoods.
Lebanon has zero air defences. There is no operational need for Israel to bomb at 4am. The only reason they bomb in the middle of the night is to maximise civilian casualties and especially to kill as many children as possible, who would mostly be outside in waking hours.
I was awoken by the most incredible explosion, I think around 4am. Our entire apartment shook Nobody yet knows how many are killed, first estimate I am hearing is about 90 dead and hundreds injured. Desperate rescue attempts ongoing. No warning. An entirely civilian block.

Israel destroying an entire village in Lebanon has no contorted military justification. It is ethnic cleansing. They know residents have left these homes. They now have nothing to return to—an entire historic human settlement erased from the map.
