A few weeks ago I was in London for the day. I took the first train down, & finished work by early afternoon. My return train was at 8:46pm, so I spent the afternoon going round the Monopoly route. I thought it would be interesting to photograph London at such a unique time.

The below makes for an interesting read on challenger banks, with a step by step comparison of them 👉 Only the first chapter in the 6-part comparison series has been published so far (see here: builtformars.co.uk/banks) but appreciated the shoutout to @Barclays 😄

Hey! @RevolutApp I doubt revolut.net goes anywhere helpful. Is this a lucky guess or did you lose grip of my phone number somewhere along the way?

Sad to see this go. Was a novel way to harness significant amounts of compute pre-cloud. Still raises a smirk how high my rating went for amount of data processed during a time when I controlled the configuration of servers and desktops across a good sized campus

Thanks to the many volunteers who have helped crunch data for SETI@home in the last two decades. On March 31, the project will stop sending out new work to users, but this is not the end of public engagement in SETI research.

Every CFO who has ever insisted that a lot of business travel is frivolous is about to get the A/B test of their careers.

Whoa!

Consider: millions of years ago our antecedents gave a massive sacrifice of their left hemisphere. We lost a tremendous amount of short term memory and replaced it with Broca’s, Wernicke & the phonological loop. But why? So we can—talk. Thus chimpanzees can do this—we can’t:

Been thinking a lot about the qualitIes I value most in leaders and colleagues. It’s humility and self-accountability. Humility listens, collaborates, serves, empowers, breaks down barriers, and unites. Accountability builds trust, integrity, and deeper collaboration.

A lot to take in but the whole thread is a good read

I have received several tweets today along the lines of "convince me why I should care about privacy" (they may be trolling, but I can't tell anymore) and, on the off-chance they really are wondering, I'm re-upping several privacy threads I've done, so buckle up. So much privacy.

In the spirit of ‘know what you’re getting in to’, this whole thread is worth the read.

For every retweet this gets, I will add an Uncomfortable @awscloud Truth to the thread.

I think we all know this is the case, it’s really good to see it written down occasionally
