Toro is being ported to ARM r52 as a hypervisor for real-time tasks, stay tuned!
We are porting Toro to the latest Freepascal release. Soon you will be able to select Toro as a targett and the compiler will simply compile your app within Toro unikernel ready to be launched as VM, stay tuned!
I spoke about Toro for MPI at @fosdem . Check out the video! video.fosdem.org/2024/ud2208/fo…
Hello, I 'll at @fosdem presenting about virtio-sound and @ToroKernel for MPI, ping if you want to chat!
Niklaus #Wirth, more than a pioneer of computer science and informatics, and the inventor of #Algol W, #Pascal, #Modula, #Oberon, #Lilith and #ObjectPascal passed away on January 1st, 2024. RIP. developer-tech.com/news/2024/jan/…
I just read that Niklaus Wirth passed away. Let's put off our discussion of Toro till next time.
In this video, we compare the latency of an OpenMPI application running on Linux with the same application running on Toro as a VM. Toro is faster! youtu.be/TJrfhEmtltE

Analyzing OpenMPI's performance against Toro unikernel
Toro currently compiles with only Free Pascal 3.2.0. Would it make sense to support the latest Free Pascal version?

This video shows how by using QProfiler we have identified and fixed a performance issue in the StaticWebServer. The performance issue has been identified by using ab. Thanks to QProfiler, we quickly identified where the time was spent. Watch it at youtu.be/NIUXvKo1EcQ

A unikernel allows applications and kernels to share pointers. Such pointers can be used to talk with a virtio-device. This article discusses how to send data through virtio-vsock with only one single copy between the user and the kernel: torokerneleng.blogspot.com/2023/05/virtio…
Toro unikernel's maximum number of cores and memory have just been updated. Using the VirtIOBus device, we communicate cores between Toro instances in a VM with 16 cores and 16GB. Visit the link to learn more. youtu.be/nEgJkOZRN9U

In last FOSDEM, I presented an implementation of MPI that runs on top of Toro unikernel. You can find the video here youtu.be/QDL93biuFT0
Hello! in next @fosdem (finally a physical event🥳), I am going to talk about how deploy MPI applications by using an unikernel. If you're curious about the presentation, I wrote down a brief article about it to give a bit of context. Enjoy! torokerneleng.blogspot.com/2023/01/runnin…
In this video, I show the use of QProfiler to profile and optimize Toro unikernel. In particular, I use this tool during inter-core communication through VirtIO. You can watch it at youtu.be/DXmjZFIB_N0
In Toro, all kernel data structure are per-CPU variables. This post explains a recent improvement to access per-CPU variables by relying on a dedicated processor register. You can read it at torokerneleng.blogspot.com/2022/08/recent…
