A huge thank you to this U6th pupil who gave an inspiring talk to the U5th ahead of their upcoming GCSE Literature exam.


Before cars, Stilton cheese travelled 39 miles from Quenby Hall to the Bell Inn in Stilton by horse-drawn carriage, stopping in villages like Uppingham. Today, the Stilton Cheese Run keeps that adventurous spirit alive!




This week’s Flecker society meeting was led by an U6th pupil, who delivered an engaging paper exploring to what extent Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ is a feminist text.



In today’s Flecker Society meeting, this U6th pupil delivered a paper entitled: ‘Green Thoughts in Green Shade: some aspects of landscape poetry, 1660-1800.’

Thank you to this U6th pupil who delivered a thought-provoking talk on ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’. He explored the opposing views held by Afghan people towards the education of women.


Mr Fletcher led an enthusiastic discussion on prose poetry in today’s Flecker Society meeting.

Thank you to Mrs Tetlow who spoke to the Flecker Book club today about the circadian novel, drawing connections with the narrative structure of ‘Orbital’ and ‘Mrs Dalloway’. Thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended!


Thank you to these L6th pupils for their insightful talk entitled ‘To what extent can Iago be considered for the tragedy of ‘Othello’? It inspired some spirited debate!

Today the Flecker Society celebrated another successful term. We are looking forward to next term and a wide range of talks from staff and pupils.

Yesterday's Routh demonstrated what our school community is all about - friendship, sportsmanship, achievement and fun. The sun was shining down on the Upper as pupils and staff ran across the glorious Rutland countryside, with the winner crossing the line at 30:21:20.…
