VPython
@VPython_Code
VPython makes it easy to create navigable 3D displays and animations, even for those with limited programming experience.
If @WebVPython and @VPython_Code were to move to Mastodon, would you prefer two feeds or one for both entities? Does it matter?
I hope your semester is off to a great start! Let us know how you're using VPython by tweeting about your activities, labs, assignments, research, etc. and tagging us! The community needs you! #ITeachPhysics
NEW: VPython 7.6.4 released! Thanks to @sspickle, @astronomatty, and John Coady. Also a new release of juperlab 3.14. See the changelog at github.com/vpython/vpytho… and get help on Groups at groups.google.com/g/vpython-users
Great update by @veritasium to his original (excellent) video on energy transmission in a circuit. The shout-out to M&I is quite appreciated (@VPython_Code, @aaronptitus). Definitely watch his if you teach circuits #ITeachPhysics youtu.be/oI_X2cMHNe0

How To Solve and Animate a 3D Double Pendulum in Python
From Sherwood: When you click "Share or export this program" you now should see a link to download an HTML file containing your transpiled JavaScript program, which can be loaded into a browser and the program should run.
Via Sherwood and @sspickle: VPython 7.6.3 has dropped! Currently works w/Python 3.8, 3.9, 3.10. To Install: conda install -c vpython vpython or pip install vpython To Update: conda update -c vpython vpython or pip install -U vpython
NEW: It is now possible to use the download() function to write a file to your Downloads folder. glowscript.org/docs/VPythonDo…
You can now access webvpython.org with https:// so you can update your bookmarks!
@WebVPyton THBBBBBT! We’re a bit jealous here. “VPython” is taken by someone who apparently hasn’t tweeted since 2010. I wonder if @TwitterSupport could free up that handle for us? How ‘bout it y’all?
BIG NEWS: Effective immediately, GlowScript will be referred to as Web VPython. This is to avoid confusion with other languages named “GlowScript.” Please make appropriate updates! webvpython.org should now work.
VPython 7.6.2 has been available for some time. I completely forgot to announce it here.
@VPython_Code is really great. One minute you're wondering what it's like to play baseball in the artificial gravity of an O'Neill cylinder. A few minutes later, you have a simulation of projectile motion with Coriolis and centrifugal forces with plots and everything.
By popular demand, arrows with round cross sections are now available! See Help. “round: By default, round is False and the arrow has a square cross-section. If round is True, it has a circular cross-section. The round attribute cannot be changed after creating the arrow. “
Is anyone using @GlowScript_Code or @VPython_Code in the AP Physics space?
