One thing I’ve been doing that’s greatly elevated my happiness is being nostalgic for the present. Asking myself “in five years what am I going to miss about my life at this current moment?” We don’t have as much time as we think, and we must hold onto each other.
.@CityOfVictoria Are the @modo_carcoop reserved spots actually reserved, or can anyone park there?
I have no idea how designers of physical systems do it. Iteration is hard enough in software. It’s almost impossible to finalize a design without real usage data.

Fantasy Meets Reality
One of my favorite things to notice as a weirdo is when the good intentions of design slam into the hard reality of humans and the real world. It’s always interesting. Let’s start with …
I looked at the code for several major media outlets in Canada. They all publish opengraph tags so third party sites can easily link to their content. It’s not stealing, it’s the web working as intended. I’m disappointed in the federal government for their rhetoric over C-18.
I can’t stand the tech giants. I think they should be properly taxed and, indeed, broken apart. But can someone explain to me in short, simple words how they’re “stealing” advertising and media content?
Dear lovely people who followed me because of this… I’m great, but I’m not the guy you were meant to follow. Go free my little birds. Thank you for visiting.
I tagged the wrong person so have redone the tweet! Sorry about that!
I know this is 'my team' in politics, and so of course I'm biased, but I've got to say I'm really happy with politicians who want to understand and learn when it comes to rapidly emerging technologies.

Everyone should have a friend like @UberTumbleweed
The jungle gym that I once got stuck on, the one that @warwick had to talk me through climbing down via tweets, has been replaced by an even bigger climbing structure. ... do I do it?
I never saw “The Motion Picture” in theatres, but I watched it on my Oculus Rift a couple years ago and the scale blew my mind. This movie is so much better on the big screen.
Celebrating the 43rd anniversary of the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. While the film was certainly not without its flaws, there was emotional power in the big reveal of the refit Enterprise, both in the magnificent visuals, and in Kirk's unabashed love his ship.
If Twitter goes down, I need to say this first: @GraceALore got back to my email about conversion therapy and she confirmed that she did read the proposed legislation. We don't agree on everything here, and I'll continue the conversation, but I wanted y'all to know she answered.
Grace Lore failed to respond to my inquiries around the legislation to ban conversion therapy. I'd love to hear about concrete action she's taken to stand with the LGBTQ2S+ community, not just empty rhetoric.
What a beautiful day! Another day I’m grateful to represent all my constituents, including trans, non binary, & gender queer folks across Victoria Beacon Hill. #dyk there are more gender diverse people in here than anywhere else in Canada? I’ll stand with them all day everyday
If you're a voter in Victoria, please give this a read: capitaldaily.ca/news/viva-vict… Vote for whoever reflects your values, just be sure you know which values they'll be advocating for if elected.
Once I attended an event where the host thanked me for doing some work on their campaign, but they couldn't find me because I wore a suit instead of my very '70s leather jacket. I was standing roughly five meters from them.

“Let that sink in!” someone said. I can’t stop laughing at this.

This is the best misdirected tweet I've ever gotten.
Nerdy and fun. I never played Myst until the Oculus version. If you've got a VR headset kicking around, I highly recommend it.
sheesh Michael don't you know it's rude to nerd snipe someone that hard
The only thing I needed to see today were these pictures of Roy Kent on Sesame Street. 🙏🏻
Spilled coffee on my keyboard. Swapped it out for spare. Was getting super frustrated at a key that seemed to be stuck down on the spare when I realized the coffee one was still connected by Bluetooth. Technology is wonderful.
My buddy Keith is doing a couple of shows for his birthday next week. The trailer just dropped for the one next Friday: youtu.be/1Ir5tcqW8WY

Robert Service worked for a bank down the street from my office. I remind myself of this every so often.
Even artists gotta pay the bills. The next time someone tells you that you need to quit your day job to pursue your artistic dream, remember that Philip Glass was a plumber.
