wasm-git 0.0.13 is out, and here's a simple tutorial / demo: near.social/mob.near/widge… the main change is the switch to ES6 module, which simplifies importing and initializing the library.
I really wanted to know which libraries are bloating my WebAssembly binaries, so I wrote a visualizer. Throw in a .wasm file with DWARF debug symbols, and wasmphobia will generate a flame graph for you, breaking down the module by source file. wasmphobia.surma.technology

🤩 Who asked for Kotlin/Wasm debugging inside IDE?
@bashorov it seems that Kotlin Wasm can be debugged using the @WebStormIDE JavaScript debugger. There is room for improvement, but the fact that I had to change zero lines of code in the debugger to get it to work is amazing!
Really nice piece on how to think about WebAssembly from @andywingo. I was lucky enough to hear him speak in München this year -- he has a real talent for distilling complex ideas in a very approachable way. wingolog.org/archives/2024/…
**Understanding Every Byte in a WASM Module** New post in which I break down the meaning of every byte in a WASM module binary. Includes interesting bits from sources other than the core spec, such as padding global indices for link time section merging. danielmangum.com/posts/every-by…
I successfully bootstrapped the Virgil compiler on the WebAssembly Linux interface running on WAMR. Oh, and also Wizard on WALI on WAMR. All told, about 4 hours of work today. Next year, implement WALI on Wizard and self-host :-) It's towers of VMs all the way down.
I've been resisting the urge to broadcast this, but there was some HN discussion, so the cat is out of the bag. With WALI we present a new layered virtualization stack. It runs tons of unmodified native applications and even has a WASI implementation. arxiv.org/pdf/2312.03858…
