A valuable visit to Oakhill STC yesterday. Great to see how they’re supporting young people, ensuring they get the right help to turn their lives around and build brighter futures.

Honoured to have attended the Butler Trust Awards at St James’s Palace yesterday. Huge congratulations to all those who received awards and commendations.

The 40th Annual Butler Trust Awards, hosted by The Princess Royal at St James's Palace today, had a surprise guest - The King! The Princess Royal has been Patron of the Trust since 1985 and champions their work to promote excellence in UK prisons, probation and youth justice.

My thanks to all who contributed to this review and to Susannah for leading it. Many girls in custody are of the highest need and highest risk - and this work will help how we care for them for years to come.

This #InternationalWomensDay, our Board Member @NFCCCOO reflects on her review of girls in custody. ♀️ She calls for trauma-informed, gender-responsive care & a new model for placements. gov.uk/government/new… #IWD25 #Girls #Custody

Always great to visit @HMYOIWerrington and see their efforts to support children and young people in custody. Proud of the hard work. #YCS #YouthJustice

Working with 15 to 18 year olds in custody is tough. However, you can make a real difference. As a Youth Justice Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team helping support children & young people ⬇️ prisonandprobationjobs.gov.uk/roles-at-hmpps… An extraordinary job. Done by someone like you.

Well done to all staff recognised at the @HMYOIWerrington Staff Awards. Your hard work supports positive outcomes for children in our care, preparing them for a successful future. Thank you for your leadership, @j5teadman.
