NQSW👩🏽‍🎓- (she/her)- All views are my own.

A lot has changed in the past couple of months. I made the difficult decision to resign and after some well needed time off to breathe and find me again I’m ready to start my SW journey again. A change of direction this time, an open mind and hoping this time it’ll be right🤞

Catching up on “catching a copper” and I’m absolutely heartbroken at what I’m watching. I have so many thoughts, so many feelings but ultimately I’m horrified and heartbroken.

So happy to receive a distinction in my MA🥳🥳

Can’t believe my first week in post has gone so fast. Everyone seems super supportive&caring which is important to me, but my anxiety this week has been at a high. New processes, info& everything else to take in has been a lot.The jump from student to NQSW has defo hit me

2 years, 170 days in placement, umpteen essays/presentations and a dissertation later… The masters degree is completed. I didn’t think two years ago when my life was turned upside down that I’d ever be here. I’ve loved this MA and I can’t wait to start my journey as an NQSW.

Here's an adaption of a previous illustration: this time depicting how #racism is more than overt social narratives suggest. This hasn't been created from first hand experience but includes some ideas from Instagram, so I hope is useful and hits the mark . Please share freely.

Do you know what’s also damaging to children? Ridiculous amounts of supply Masses of teachers leaving Lack of funding for SEND & special schools Overstretched mental health services Unqualified staff teaching GCSE Huge Ofsted pressure Cost of living But yep those 6 strike days 🙄

Last year, school strikes resulted in 25 million school days being lost cumulatively. Children should not have to suffer a repeat of this disruption. I’m announcing that we will introduce minimum service levels in schools so that pupils get the education they need and deserve.

I’ve completed my 100 day placement…🥳🥳🥳 I’ve absolutely loved working with an incredible team & supporting children and families BUT I’m thrilled to say that I have accepted an ASYE post in children services. I’m feeling very grateful and excited for the future.

at this time of genocide in gaza, the silence from social work / academia twitter is deafening many of the same who preach anti-racism and decolonisation. where’s the leadership?

Trauma training today! Really enjoyed the refresher and emphasised the importance of working in a trauma informed manner

Today was my last uni recall day, where is the time going?! Have just over a month left at placement too. Such little time, so much work to do😂 the end is in sight, masters degree pending, then onto the next part of my SW journey. It’s all very exciting👏

Any youth offending service social workers out there… what do you think of the asset plus assessment? Do you think the length is needed? What’s your views of it in general? I’ve just completed my first one and atm have very mix feelings about it 😂#youthjustice#socialwork

Took one of my YP with a co- worker to the liver bird tour this afternoon. Was a great day out for us all but it was so lovely to see our YP throughly enjoy it! Loved that we was able to provide this experience for them.
