A long wait at the doc’s office wasn’t bad since I had my latest challenge book in my bag! I absolutely loved this one. Dystopia with creepy cults and zombie-like people. I’m on to the sequel! #NISDdiamonreads
Finished my time travel square for the summer reading challenge today. Ruby Red is a fantastic start to a trilogy with hereditary time travel abilities, intrigue, romance, and lots of secrets! I will definitely finish this series. :) #NISDdiamonreads
Just finished the “mystery” square for the summer reading challenge. I read the whole book in one sitting because I HAD to know what the next clue would reveal! Definitely recommend What Happened to Rachel Riley #NISDdiamonreads
Read the award winning graphic novel—Two Tribes about a girl who is both Jewish and Muscogee. It was informative about both cultures and worth a look! This was for my “number in the titlle” square #NISDdiamonreads
Jury duty gave me the opportunity to finish Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda. I’d seen the movie years ago and thought I’d compare the book. #NISDdiamonreads
This quote from The Gift of Story resonates with me. Share what books you are passionate about with the people in your life! This book is in our library for teacher to read! #thegiftofstory #reading #teaching
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a Mars rover, you should check out A Rover’s Story. It felt like a mix between a rover documentary and an old favorite movie of mine from when I was a kid—Short Circuit. :) #NISDdiamonreads
A nice long road trip gave me time to finish ¡Ay, Mija!—a graphic novel about a Mexican American teenager who goes to Mexico to visit family. A great book about loving family even when you can’t communicate well or see each other very often. #NISDdiamonreads
Just finished my historical fiction square for the summer reading bingo challenge! You must all go read The First Ladies immediately! Roosevelt and Bethune are my new favorite pair! #NISDdiamonreads
Finished the book bingo square for “Set in Another Country” by reading Girl of Nightmares , a sequel, which is set in Canada, England, and the Underworld. It was okay, but I think the series could have stopped at one. #NISDdiamonread
Finished The Widow Spy about the first female Pinkerton detective during the Civil War. This is for the summer challenge square “character who is a detective” I didn’t know much about the Pinkerton Agency’ spy work for Lincoln. Interesting! #NISDdiamonreads
Just finished the “romance fiction” square. I chose one from my tbr list and enjoyed this one set in the 50’s New York newspaper biz. #NISDdiamonreads
Just read Anna Dressed in Blood for the summer reading challenge square “Written by a female author”. Read this one as an audiobook while walking my dogs this week. Perfect for any Supernatural series fans. A creepy, good mystery. #NISDdiamonreads
Just finished Beauty, a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast tale! It was a great version, if a little old. It was for the summer reading Bingo square for “read a book from the year you weee born”. :) #NISDdiamonreads
“It feels like a special gift to be allowed to tag along and hang out with people exploring their own curiosity or hobbies, passions, interests. I have no idea what I might learn on any given day.” —The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians. True- t’s why I love what I do!
Finished the second book in the summer reading challenge! This one was great and I will be reading the sequel and the third one comes out this month! #NISDdiamonreads
Finished the first book of the NISD Summer Reading Bingo Challenge—a book with a magical creature. #NISDdiamonreads
My favorite things about Alcatraz: learning that the cells overlooking the library were prized by inmates and seeing all the baby seagulls in the nests around the island.
I harvested this from the school garden today! The tomatoes and yellow squash have been producing like crazy this year. @NISDZachry @NISDZachryCyber
I’m missing my library today, but I’ve already learned some great new digital resources, some wonderful programming ideas, and how to better teach research in collaboration with my ELA teachers. Great first day to my conference! @NISDZachry @NISDLib @NISDZachryCyber
