.@WBHoekstra: this sounds a little tone deaf? Were you just in the same plenary as I was? Very clear from interventions by Cuba, India, Bolivia, Nigeria, Malawi, Pakistan that this deal is far removed from what's needed. EU failed to put any meaningful offer on the table in Baku.
COP29 will be remembered as the start of a new era on climate finance. The EU will continue to lead. This COP delivered an ambitious and realistic goal and an increased contributor base. With these funds and this structure, we are confident we’ll reach the $1,3 trillion.
