Thank you to the @museumofvan for recognizing the struggle that is Living with Long COVID! 👏 #LongCOVID #COVID19
Up until my 4th decade on this planet, I assumed anyone who caught polio got paralyzed. But less than 1% did. & people worked to prevent polio to stop that 1% from getting paralyzed. Why aren’t we trying to stop the 10% (a conservative estimate) from getting long covid?
Aren't you tired of being sick and tired? COVID-19 isn't just another cold. It can cause lasting harm even without symptoms. We have the power to break this cycle. Wearing a high-quality mask in public drastically reduces infections, protecting you and your community. Together,…
CAN YOU HELP US REACH 5K TONIGHT? If you think health & social care settings should have clean air and new PPE standards to better protect patients & staff from airborne infections, please sign the petition below: ✍🏻 petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7003…
I’ll never understand why we’ve accepted hosptial acquired covid as inevitable. Why people resigned to the fact that if they go in for care, they will likely catch covid. It doesn’t have to be inevitable. We shouldn’t be complacent about a 10% mortality rate. We can do more.
New study in Nature finds no such thing as natural immunity to covid after the arrival of omicron. Pre-omicron, infection provided 80% protection against re-infection one year later. This falls to under 5% at one year with omicron
Hey, everyone. COVID destroys the body even if you think you’re fine. Everyone keeps getting sick because they don’t protect themselves and have zero immune system. This is a mask. You should try it before you end up like me.
We cannot separate a term like "bed rotting" becoming popular and the amount of people getting ME for the first time. Certainly there are other elements, but I think we need to be conscious that there's a lot of people suddenly needing far more rest than they did previously,...
❌Viral infections are all from not washing your hands. ✅ At least 70-90% of viral infections have an airborne transmission component, and for respiratory viruses alone, it's likely closer to 100% when considering aerosol persistence, viral load, and real-world outbreak…
I find it baffling that @bryan_johnson goes to such great lengths to optimize his health but doesn’t wear a respirator. A “mild” COVID infection already did a lot of damage to his lungs, according to him.
How switching to an N95 mask gives a 75x boost in COVID protection “N95s are up to 75 times more effective at preventing infection with COVID-19 than surgical masks, according to a study” axios.com/2022/01/11/n95…
I wish it weren't necessary to keep writing about this. But it is. With the awesome @DrFiliatrault and @arijitchakrav surreynowleader.com/opinion/analys…
It would take an hour to educate every healthcare worker in the world on how airborne transmission of viruses works, how respirators prevent transmission, and why it is good to stop transmission. It is criminal that this has not been done already.
I’m an epidemiologist and a parent. I’m very concerned about C19 in children, because there’s evidence of cognitive damage with each infection, developmental disorders from prenatal infection, and long term cardiovascular risk. Leaving aside the 10-20% risk of immediate sequelae
I'm an epidemiologist and a father. I'm not overly concerned about COVID-19 and my daughter's health now in 2025. Here's why: medium.com/@gidmk/childre…

Children And COVID-19 In 2025
Why I’m not overly concerned about my daughter and COVID-19
🌍Clean Air Around the World 🌍 What countries are leading the way (or doing anything) to get clean air in schools? I'm looking for examples of non-U.S. countries who are making moves to protect school children. Please share any links/data you have seen. Thx. RT 🙏 pls
I still remember the first time I saw #SARSCoV2 in the brain in the microscope, back in 2021. I was supposed to be looking at brains with Alzheimer, the neuroinflammation is similar. I knew #NeuroCovid was going to be pretty bad. We are just starting to see how much. #LongCovid
It’s 2025… can we start masking in hospitals again? Can we stop insinuating that hospital acquired covid is inevitable or that those who die were going to die anyways? Let’s call it what it is. A failure of infection control to protect those who put their lives in your hands
When people ask me why we still mask indoors, the most honest and also clearly the most uncomfortable answer I give is this one, while explaining that my husband is a neurologist who specializes in cognitive decline.
COVID: Highest level in more than two years, climbing RSV: Highest level in more than two years, climbing Influenza A: Highest level in more than two years, climbing Norovirus: Highest level in more than two years, climbing Immune systems: Clearly functioning very poorly
🔥”The first thing that public health would need to do, long before we get to nasal vaccines, is to stop the lying. We need to tell people why it’s bad to get COVID repeatedly. Tell people why COVID can shorten one’s lifespan.”
