In an era where there are public calls to "eradicate transgenderism," saying that trans people are incapable of producing art is hate speech. Although the newspaper provided counter-examples, it's telling that the journalist involved didn't challenge him on it in the moment.
Obviously, people can list off very many works of art that have been made by trans creators, but the truth doesn't actually matter here. It's the message that is going out: these people, they're worthless. They're so subhuman they can't even produce art. That's genocidal talk.
