Here it is, the Librarian! Here's how I used it to upgrade a Rust dependency last week (successfully!)

Meet Amp's newest tool: The Librarian. Your cross-repo search assistant. The Librarian makes it easy to get clear and comprehensive answers to questions spanning beyond your current repo.

If you saw how people actually use coding agents, you would realize Andrej's point is very true. People who keep them on a tight leash, using short threads, reading and reviewing all the code, can get a lot of value out of coding agents. People who go nuts have a quick high but…

My pleasure to come on Dwarkesh last week, I thought the questions and conversation were really good. I re-watched the pod just now too. First of all, yes I know, and I'm sorry that I speak so fast :). It's to my detriment because sometimes my speaking thread out-executes my…
Amp CLI now lets you edit prior messages and roll back
We added editing and restoring to previous prompts in the Amp TUI. Tab and shift+tab to jump between messages. E to edit, R to restore. This is one I really missed from the Amp VSCode extension.

There's a new subagent in Amp called the Librarian. Its job is to locate relevant context in all the libraries you might be using in open source or your private dependencies. Amp's accessible context now extends to the entire universe of code: ampcode.com/news/librarian

Amp is free. Not because we subsidize usage, but because we arbitrage good, cheap and available tokens, use new OSS models, and use ads to cover our costs. It's the best free coding agent that will never rug pull you.
Here it is, built on the Internet's best business model: Amp Free.

Thread sharing in Amp is great because it: • Makes code reviews easier (just staple the thread's URL to the description to show the reviewer what you told Amp) • Teaches your team how to use coding agents with no extra effort • Makes you look cool: mitchellh.com/writing/non-tr…

Francois Chaubard of Stanford AI's Hazy Research Lab chats with Beyang of Amp about their shared journeys as founders, the nature of LLM intelligence, the path to AGI that involves both models and application innovation, and whether scale is all we need: youtube.com/watch?v=hR6zyA…

"the reason agentic coding tools are getting so good is because the feedback loop is so quick."

We made Amp Free. It's powered by great tokens and tasteful ads. Agentic coding is now free for everyone.
Today, @AmpCode is taking a big step towards democratizing AI software development with the release of Amp Free— a new ad-supported plan. We're proud to be launch partners, helping bring their vision of free agentic coding to the masses. Read their blog for more details:…

This is the way to use a coding agent if you’re a serious engineer:
I've shared the full transcript of every agentic coding session from implementing the unobtrusive Ghostty updates and provided commentary alongside about my thinking and process. Total cost: $15.98 over 16 sessions. "Vibing a Non-Trivial Ghostty Feature" mitchellh.com/writing/non-tr…
Giving Amp Code and Tab a test run. What I really want is @claudeai to make Claude Tab to go along with the claude code extension
