Attended the #Coldplay concert last evening at #Ahmedabad and it was so well managed. Despite having over 1,00,000 people in attendance, at no point in time crowd management was an issue. Kudos to the organizers and local administrators who did a splendid job.

Interesting that while Nifty (BFSI) has had the best PAT growth for the last couple of years, it remains laggard when it comes to valuation.....wondering why this divergence?

#Infosys pays a measly amount of Rs 20,000 to every employee who completes 20 years working with the company! Their joining salary (3.5l PA) hasn’t changed over the last 15 years. You can’t attract good talent with such bad HR policies. They are happy playing the arbitrage game!

As per ET India is facing a shortage of long haul truck drivers and there are about 20lac trucks not being driven actively owing to shortage of drivers. Find it difficult to believe that people are not taking up a job which pays 20-25k/ month (ET estimate). What a dichotomy!

A friends car broke down on a holiday trip & we were discussing pros & cons of taking road side assistance (RSA) packages as part of insurance yesterday evening. Today morning I received a phone call frm a company selling me RSA!! Scary as I hadn’t done any web searches on this😢

Aggregate technical & commercial (AT&C) losses of Indian distribution utilities (discoms) have come down from 24.8% in FY15 to 16.5% in FY22. That’s a significant decline & should help improve bleeding discoms. Hope these numbers represent the actual on the ground situation

Wasn't aware that Amazon didn't allow sellers from Pakistan until May 21 to list their products on its website. Within a year of its launch Pakistan became the country with 3rd highest no. of sellers on Amazon behind USA & China. Many of these are running scamming outfits😀!!

India's household debt as a % of GDP is quite low @ 35% as compared to 80% in USA, 88% in Britain, 90% in Thailand. With increased credit penetration this will surely go up creating huge demand for consumption as well as capital goods. No doubt that India is the bright spot!!

Sea freight rates are correcting sharply and should help reduce costing of imported raw materials as freight rates had gone up almost 4-5x. They are still double pre covid levels and expectation is that they will further fall to pre covid levels.

It used to cost $2.2k to ship a 20ft TEU #container to New Jersey frm #Mumbai in pre covid times. Post covid it went to more than $10k thanks to #covid induced restrictions & more due to cartelisation. Today the cost is $4.2k. Will not be surprised if it breaches $2k by June 23
