Looks good! Is the idea to replace the electronic polarized filters with this motorized cpl? If so what prompted this?
No. Not to replace but there are different applications. Scientific and great optical quality FPMs in general are limited to 5x5 cm that limits the kind of cameras and lenses you can use. When you see people using large "FPM"s from LCD screens - that's total garbage optically.
