Honestly sad to see Twitter go a bit, it's been very good for opening horizons. But I'd lost interest in it anyway over the last few months, posting less and less, visiting less and less. too much noise, not enough signal. Find me at andrewdobson.co.uk and at Mastadon.

Facebook's issues today highlight the achilles heel of all digital platforms - when the noise outstrips the signal, people lose interest. If the content is irrelevant to me, then so is your platform. Those pushing never-ending content streams beware.

I have a slide just like this. What they do like though is an interesting, creative idea.

At Chemistry during my ‘more provocative’ days I had an opening slide for projects that read “ No one cares about your brand, our job is to make them care for just a split second’. It was deemed ‘too gloomy’

Listening into conversations in metaverse spaces is basically like listening to NPC audio clips in GTA.

This is the single biggest limiting issue to the metaverse and it needs sorting out RIGHT NOW. The same is true of @recroom btw. I did a demo in it recently and the first interaction was what was clearly an American child telling me to f off. Not a good look for clients.

It's hard to overstate how clear it is that Horizon Worlds is full of young kids when you use it. Everyone I talked to for this story had encountered them and worried about them. I ran into several myself. And the reviews on the Oculus Store are... well... oculus.com/experiences/qu…

Convergence of game engines and vfx long predicted with the shift to real time. Hope studios have invested in these skills, they're going to need them.

I moved here about 20 years ago, tbh it's a pretty nice neighbourhood.

mom can you come pick me up? I'm at the intersection of art & technology

Given the massive explosion of digital arts lately, it blows my mind that digital work is still often considered less crafted than fine arts and design. The amount of craft in code is staggering.

You think everything has been done in terms of globe projections and particles. Then you enter the Mobility Pavilion at Expo Dubai

An essential tool for all Technical Directors that have to do a bit of code now and again: drop.com/buy/stack-over… :)

the Vivaldi Gloria for me, just skip the tiresome "gloria" itself. From Et in Terra... onward is fantastic focus music.

Best album for coding : Kraftwerk, Tour de France. (This is empirically correct as obviously everyone is the same and reacts identically to all music 😅)
