Just a reminder JK Rowling didn't tweet to her millions of followers about the election once, but is tweeting about how someone should be allowed to be a bigot at work
Aside from everything else, JK Rowling misrepresents the legal decision that was handed down yesterday, and misrepresents it in such a way as to make it harder, not easier, for people to be decent to each other.
A thing I hope cis people are learning about the JK Rowling thing is to trust trans people when we tell you someone does not have our interests at heart. Same goes for POC and racism, disabled folks and ableism—the marginalized are attuned to the dogwhistles of our enemies.

Autism Speaks is collaborating with Google to make a database of genetic material to help researchers “eliminate” autism. Curing autism is eugenics. Full stop. I most certainly do not want to be cured. If you care about autistic people, you shouldn’t support Autism Speaks.
In most cases, parenting skills can be learned if people are well-supported. Housing instability or transience could be solved with providing enough safe, warm and dry state homes. Treating these as individual/family issues, as justification for removing a child, just isn't right

Overpopulation is a Malthusian myth. There are 7.7 billion people. 95% of us occupy only 10% of the land. We produce enough food to satisfy 10 billion people & can double that, in a more sustainable way. We have a profit & distribution problem (capitalism), not a people problem.

It was actually heartbreaking to see so many people walk out of the vigil in Auckland Domain tonight. From the front it looked like a visual metaphor for how people will eventually break away from this temporary unity we have formed against hatred in the wake of tragedy.
