Day 5 was packed with activities: company visits, team presentations, and a closing ceremony dinner opened by Prof. Jun Murai. Great job, APIErs, and huge thanks to the USM team for the warm hospitality! We already miss you, Penang! See you all in the final presentation!
Day 4 was a big day! Morning: enthusiastic lead TA Ken (USM) led a hands-on dive into IoT and cloud computing fundamentals. Afternoon: campers witnessed history — the inauguration of the ARENA-PAC link to USM! Cheers!
With Mr. Imtiaz Sajid (@apnic), participants dived into the heart of the Internet — DNS. From setting up BIND servers and configuring zones to troubleshooting and boosting resolution speed, today was all about making those green lights blink!
Day 2 at APIE Camp in USM: from building virtual networks with Dr. Kudo (@kudodo) and the NOC team to hardening systems and monitoring threats with Dr. Shankar, participants dove deep into #Linux, #virtualization, and #cybersecurity. 💻🔒
Day 1 started with active icebreakers, the traditional cable making and group photo!
140+ participants. 1 question: “What is the Internet?” That’s how APIE e-Workshop 07 kicked off yesterday — with everyone testing their connectivity speed to create a live snapshot of Internet access across Asia.
One step closer to the next APIE Camp to be hosted by USM (Penang, Malaysia)! Preparation meeting with all participants and organizers done! See you in few weeks!
