Something far more important than remaining true to your tribe, in my view, is remaining true to your own values. Authenticity should supersede group loyalty if you want to live a life of integrity.

Why is it that the most morally righteous among us often demonstrate the most repugnant behaviors? There needs to be more research on this. A self-actualized life seems to be one with greater flexibility and acceptance of the behaviors of others and oneself.

Here's a thought. Instead of showing your gratitude by making a noise at 5pm, how about starting a fund where people can donate money or commodities to healthcare, people working essential services and daily wage labourers? I guess logic doesn't matter in these trying times. 😔
