Stretching wings helps wild turkeys avoid muscle tension, improves circulation, helps maintain feather function, and even dislodges feather parasites which improves comfort. The benefits of stretching extends beyond us humans! ⁦@wildturkeylab⁩ ⁦@NWTF_official

New WildAg episode is live! What makes the Great Plains such a productive agricultural hotspot? And why are some fields just more productive than others no matter what? It turns out the secret is in the soil. This month we are joined by Dr. Ray Ward, founder of @WardLabs, to…

Fall is when toms settle scores, get the upper hand, and settle out who is dominant within their flocks. Lots of posturing, fighting, loud purrs and rattles, all to see who will be at the top come spring. Anyone seeing toms fighting? ⁦@wildturkeylab⁩ ⁦@NWTF_official

Gobbling by wild turkeys isn’t just a spring activity! Toms will often gobble in the fall to assert dominance over other toms in the same flock and sort out pecking orders long before spring. Anyone hearing birds gobbling? ⁦@wildturkeylab⁩ ⁦@NWTF_official
