I just bought a nintendo switch. I’ve not owned a Nintendo since the original NES. I’m playing Breath of the Wild for the first time. I’ve not played a Zelda since the original. I’m totally floored. I’ve never had this much fun playing a foraging/hunting/cooking sim.
As a huge, life long @EdmontonOilers fan who lives in Toronto, it has been a gruelling season of games starting at 9/10pm (as always). Today? Only game on is Oilers/Vegas, and its at 10pm EST. Seriously? C’mon @NHL. Game is in Edmonton. Why the late start?
There’s a lot of things that suck about a 20% layoff. One of them is you keep stumbling across deactivated slack profiles of people you worked with, need to talk to, etc. It’s a treasure hunt of grief.
The @NHL has tried desperately to find a nemesis to McDavid. Right now that’s Eichel. 1v2 in the playoffs. But the real nemesis is right there. It’s Messier to Gretzky. Imagine if/when Drai and McD play on separate teams. As if Crosby/Ovi played together then separately.
In these times i remind myself that all things are temporary, for better or for worse. And while this is temporary for the better, it still stings. While i “survived”, it still seems like the end of an era. Things will change. There will be more temporary. But what a 5 years. ❤️
It’s a sad day in @Shopify. Some people I’ve worked with for five years, some of the OGs of @shop were let go. Some of these people are so close to my heart i think of them as siblings. If you are hiring, and are interested in some incredible, talented, lovely humans, ping me.

Question: I didn’t pay much attention to the inflationary periods of the 80s and 90s back in the day because i was a kid. But did prices every go back down a bit when it was done? Or are we in a new base line with this inflationary period?
