I love when Jay Z debates pop up because you can tell who’s actually listened to his music and who just skimmed through it. Plaques, Grammys, and accolades aside, very very few have as many bars and gems as Jigga. That’ll never change.

No rap songs appear in the top 40 on the Hot 100 for the first time since February 1990. Ending a streak of 35 years, eight months and three weeks (week of October 25, 2025).
The rap that defined my life was never charting. It was on mixtapes or mix shows etc. Chart position has never been the measure of the culture's health or creativity.
