The rain stopped for a second whilst the team planted 10 new memorial trees at @wessexwater Clatworthy Reservoir. The trees are a mix of Downy Birch, Rowan and Sessile Oak. These species have been chosen as they are locally native and grown in the UK by @chewvalleytrees #trees 🌳
We have been busy propagating some more trees and shrubs to increase our offer of fully peat free, fully british grown evergreens. These will be ready for sale in about 5 years time, all being well. You need a lot of patience to be a tree grower. #trees #peatfree
The storm has it the nursery quite hard. A few mature trees have come down and lots of stock to stand up, but luckily not too much damage. We will be open tomorrow, but please bear in mind the nursery may not be looking it’s best and some areas may still be closed off.
With very strong winds predicted for tomorrow, the nursery will be open for collections only. We will not be open for browsing or viewing trees. We hope to be open as normal on Saturday.
