Also wait hold on if it’s post scarcity then what the emotional preparedness for, aren’t these the same losers who keep harping about a permanent underclass?
Decent overview of the "everything is permitted" logic of the AGI race, secular edition. People who don't want to pay taxes want all the capital they can and promise it'll produce infinite returns for everyone at some later date.

So what I’m getting here is that modi fans and gamers aren’t exactly that different
Phil Spencer made Sony port their most successful game of the last decade to Xbox Series X|S consoles.

not need to worry about the AI apocalypse, i'm still the one doing all the real thinking here haha

them mtv teen mom shows worked on two generations
For the first time in U.S. history, more women over 40 are giving birth than teenagers.

Going to the cinema alone is a different level of lonely
OK, so as someone who works on this stuff daily, here's my take on LLMs for coding: There are some things they're really good at and some things they're really bad at, and knowing where to draw the line on how to use them is the key. I remain astounded by how incredible LLMs are…
I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.
Hot take Sunday: `jj` *is* that good. I've switched sway to Cosmic, neovim to helix (experimenting with Zed), zsh to nushell; I've tried "all remote work" on a beefy server, after a souped up "gaming" laptop; And yet, `jj` remains the single biggest life changer.
Thought this kind of posting died in mid-2022 when based and hetero russian military couldnt even reach Kiev
Pro tip from my textile engineering degree: a sufficiently waterproof raincoat (because it’ll trap in your body’s moisture) is often really good at keeping you warm I myself just carry the worlds thinnest lightest rain coat when I don’t wanna carry a bunch of stuff.
the guy wearing zebra yeezys in 2025 is forcing AI down your throat. if that’s doesn’t radicalize you then you cant be helped
Every corpse on Everest was one of those 'motivated' type of people. Not worth it. Stay home and eat biscuits
Another body emerges on Everest: a climber frozen for decades, now revealed by melting ice. Over 200 remain entombed on the world’s highest peak.
i rlly believe following people who write about ai with an eye for the underlying economic or technical ramifications — as opposed to philosophy / civilizational-inflected commentary — has saved my brain.
Americans are about to find out how grifting and grafting actually worked in China prior to 2012
Every single oncall tool or paging tool now call themselves an “AI platform” or “AI-first operations platform” 🤡 (Pretty sure it’s not just the oncall tooling category btw)
What an incredibly weird timeline we all ended up in. theverge.com/news/798681/po…

All things considered it’s a bit more like Econ 3564: International Monetary Economics
I love how Econ 101 says tariffs should make the dollar stronger, yet the dollar falls every time new tariffs are announced.
Yes this was predictable if you were paying attention.
