For nine months, my wife, Brooklyn, carried our baby boy. And for nine months, we lived in a place between hope and heartbreak. Early in the pregnancy, we learned something was terribly wrong. Around the three- to four-month mark, doctors told us our son had severe hydrocephalus…
Like many GP practices Dr Katz’s practice has turned off online access before 6.30pm Why? @wesstreeting @SKinnock @DHSCgovuk Because GPs need time to read requests before they shut for the day This was the practice is highlighted as a beacon of what can be done
We’re supporting GP practices to offer access to online booking requests from 8am to 6.30pm. Dr Naomi Katz explains how the system works ⬇️

We've heard worrying reports of doctors in Cheshire and Mersey being asked to act down to cover shifts or work with uncovered gaps, impacting patient safety and doctors' wellbeing. Please support our campaign to address this attack on locally agreed collective agreements: (1/2)
GPs are asking for funding so that patients can have greater access to GPs You will hear something different from @wesstreeting @SKinnock @DHSCgovuk They will say that there is more funding & GPs but there isn’t anywhere near enough of either They aren’t telling you the truth

When people ask me why we need more Dr jobs or Drs deserve pay restoration, this is it. We save lives, the job we do is overwhelmingly difficult. Over 40% of training RDs ‘often/always exhausted at the thought of work’ We need to value doctors and their jobs or we’ll lose them.
Burnout is a huge issue in healthcare, of resident doctors in training 61% are considered at moderate to high risk of burnout. (GMC training survey) and remember 2019 was the start of the pandemic! These are not feasible conditions to work in @DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting
