From "I only believe in Jassi Bhai" to "I'm always believe in myself". Siraj. What a guy.

That channel just shaving off stump is the key to restricting Duckett. His bat comes down diagonally and he can cut even slightly wider balls. But on that line he awkwardly pushes/defends at an angle. An ungainly jab. His control rates and SRs are lower. It's thin but it's there.

The idea to center the red ball team around bits-and-pieces all rounders over specialists and by virtue of it, over-rely on the few specialists is a clear vision of this Indian management.

You've heard a LOT about his release point. But in my latest for Cricinfo, I study the magic of Bumrah's release whip. How it gives him seam, swing, and bounce. Using advanced data, this explores a legendary bowler like no one has before. Have a read! espncricinfo.com/story/how-bumr…

India's 7-10 partnerships averaged 7.85 and 8.07 in their two successful BGT series Meanwhile in the one they lost they averaged 16.04. India's tail has always been weak and liable to not make much. The big difference this test was batters 6-8 not making many runs either.

On my life I've not seen a better wicket keeping test batter for England. Prior was good, but this Jamie Smith is on another galaxy altogether. 10/10 defensive technique, excellent vs spin. Only weakness of his is his occasional game IQ, got undone by McCullum. But superb today

Think the Indian pace attack (sans Bumrah) is bound to undergo one SENA cycle similar to the 2011-12 and 2014-15 ones that the likes of Ishant, Shami, Umesh etc did. That bunch got persisted with and that eventually paid off. Don't know if they'll remain as patient with this one.

Duckett saab bats like he's in an ODI, even in Test cricket! Strike rate above 85 in every calendar year since 2022, and not just that — he's averaging well too. Sure, pitches have been batting-friendly, but those are still seriously impressive numbers.

To add onto this Looking at all wicket keepers with 75+ Innings, how often they passed 25 and once they did, how many runs did they add per Innings. Pant's consistency is truly remarkable, basically never fails and still ranks in the top 10 for runs added.

If you're prepared to shelve the hype around "hundreds", then here's a stat: Most 90+ scores in Tests since Pant's debut: Root: 25 Kane: 17 Smith: 16 Pant: 15 Next best from India are Kohli, Rohit and Gill with 9 each. 90+ scores in 5 different countries. Scoring at a rate of…

Bro did Gill just say "Ek taraf se Mohammad hai ek taraf se Krishna, dono tabahi macha rahe"??? 😭😭😭😭

These stump mics are tuned upto max man. I don't think I have ever heard players so clearly lol

Nothing can express what a monster Bumrah is. Forget the action, his skill and intelligence are greater than most bowlers to have played the game. Found the right line from ball 1, gauged the correct swing, bowling perfect length, swinging it both ways. He's a God.

Been at a lot of cricket in my life. Travelled the world. But this feels as special as any of them. The team of inherited heartbreak has finally won their first world title. Against Australia, at Lord's. They lived in the shade for the longest time, no one deserves the sun…

Talk of washed AUS batting is so misplaced. Conditions changed radically from Day 3 morning and that cooked them. Seen this many times at Lord’s: a slow seamer flattening out—no pace in the pitch to extract wickets once the live grass dies off

Just 25 runs in 13 overs today. At this rate, Australia will have a crack at them with new ball too. it’s been tight bowling and the surface is playing tricks. Although still firmly within reach, it’s starting to feel more like a slow grind than a cruise to the finish.

And ironically, despite that tendency of his, he's not necessarily been a fast-scorer in Test cricket, which shows that he's better off leaving a lot of those deliveries on 5th/6th stump that he aimlessly pokes at. He'll only get better.

Pre-empting any chat here: all the tracking data for this Test is normal, in some areas less movement than is typical for Lord's. We've seen some very consistent, accurate bowling and some *extremely* average batting under pressure.
