In case anyone is curious, I asked this question to dozens of interesting people from my network. They uniform answer was: none, I didn't do enough social activities to meet people last year. This is sad, and I hope we can get back to the 'tech meetup era', socials were normal
About a year ago I started reading 'useful' books for the things I used to use twitter for ('hot takes'). The quality of my decisions has changed, I feel so much more grounded in facts. It makes sense. Books have to cite sources, provide evidence, solve problems. Tweets don't #ML
today at 6:30PM CET we are running "Should I stay or leave academia? Using empirical evidence to make this decision" If you attend you can access our tool providing accurate stats for your discipline to answer questions like "how many papers do I need?" meetup.com/data-science-r…
If you are an academic and are wondering if you are on the right track, consider attending our workshop: "Should I stay or should I leave academia? Deciding using empirical evidence". We will use actual data to show you where you rank, Today 6:30-8:30p app.heartbeat.chat/unstuck-phd/ev…
Today at 6:30pm CET I'm running a mastermind for PhDs who want to leave academia and want to have somewhat of a map for it. It'd continue as a community of practice if there's enough interest.I don't plan to push it or advertise it so that it grows orglly. app.heartbeat.chat/unstuck-phd/ev…
Mega congrats to batch 29 on raising the bar for demo days: 1/ Creative ideas 2/ implemented to the point that there's a working live demo, sometimes even a product with matching website! 3/ projects that solve problems people have. The edited videos will be on YT soon #ai #dsr
Tomorrow 6pm we have our next demo day. Projects include: Q&A engine for health care, Remove reverb from sound, Applying data-science to telecommunication networks, Finding the best place to do a phd in germany, Conversational agent for language learning. meetup.com/Data-Science-R…
