Academic articles should be accessible. I have made nearly all my publications (on autism, such as supporting autistic people's quality of life in practical domains e.g. employment, neurodiveristy and identity, traits and stimming) freely available here: tinyurl.com/y5fvyvto

Autistics (vs non-autistics) "are less likely to make errors in self-assessments of their cognitive performance"? onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/au… "findings provide... insights into both the cognitive strengths of autistic individuals and the mechanisms underlying metacognitive biases"

My School is hiring 2 full-time academics on permanent contracts: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Applied Sport Psychology mss.port.ac.uk/ce0732li_webre… & L/SL in Forensic Psychology mss.port.ac.uk/ce0732li_webre… Exciting opportunity to join unique School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences

Thanks, but don't trust AI. ;) I don't essentialize communication but emphasize interaction happens *between* ppl: frontiersin.org/journals/integ… I have long said (e.g. here in 2011) "How can a 'deficit' in 'reciprocity' or 'relationships' lie in just 1 person?" youtube.com/watch?v=oRFO00…

"Our findings point to previously unknown strengths in autistic children who are minimally speaking across statistical learning and social attention, suggesting that spoken language differences in this population might be unrelated to these domains" nature.com/articles/s4159… free

I delivered a webinar for AutCom on Challenging the ‘Profound Autism’ Label: youtube.com/watch?v=dfE7u8… (recording). Subtyping into "profound autism" lacks scientific validity & weakens community power for us to seek the systems change autistic people need for personalized support.

Tommy Robinson (@TRobinsonNewEra) is welcomed to Israel by a government minister. I’m banned. I’m a British Jew and a member of the Board of Deputies. Israel needs to ask itself: who are its allies, and what message does this send?

Another replication: "autistic adults were more prosocial than non-autistic adults towards more socially distant others" journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/13… "While autistic people often face challenges navigating their social worlds, autism can also be associated with more generosity"

The UK created the eugenics movement and is a country relatively nonchalant about death (e.g. people walking their dogs in cemeteries as a daily habit, look on the bright side of death, the origin of Death Cafés) and its "assisted dying" policy will kill many disabled people.

Learning disabilities? Autistic? Downs Syndrome? Don't worry you too can have an assisted death according to Lord Falconer

This social regression that we have seen really needs to be put under a microscope because really it should be a lot less acceptable than it is to be like "reasonable accomodations for disabilities and are bad actually, here's my uneducated opinion"

Calling extra exam time ‘unhealthy’ for autistic & ADHD kids is like calling ramps ‘unhealthy’ for wheelchair users. It’s not coddling — it’s access. The problem isn’t the accommodation, it’s a system built for one kind of brain and punishing to everyone else.

Nominations for public members of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee are through Monday. This is an important opportunity for U.S. citizens to influence national autism policy; we need good research & advocacy that advance needs of autistic ppl: tinyurl.com/3bx6wh7n

Autism advocacy has changed in recent decades, but fundamentally the dynamic is still that a demagogue preys on fears to offer false causation & 'treatment'. Somehow at a time when trust in government has plummeted, people listen to someone with no scientific or medical training

.@SingaporeAir have agreed to replace what they broke (having tried to deflect responsibility on to @AerLingus for something they broke) and now have informed me that it's standard practice to get people to sign limited release tags to acknowledge "mutual expectations"

I am proud to teach Neurodiversity Studies, supervise, and tutor for the MSc in Psychology and Learning Disability at the University of Portsmouth. It was great to meet recent graduates in person and hear about how the course has helped to advance their careers.

Our MSc in Psychology and Learning Disability is part-time & online, so students may meet in person for 1st time at graduation as below. It’s not too late to apply for this term, although next week is induction week & teaching week after, so act quickly! port.ac.uk/study/courses/…

Someone who practiced medicine without a license, chemically castrating autistics, has access to vaccination data despite lack of scientific background & skill. The antivax+ movement belongs to moral model and falsely blames parents for their decisions: medpagetoday.com/publichealthpo…
