In Bialystok, Kazimierz Poplawski, 42 spent days smuggling Jews out of the ghetto and was murdered, hung outside the ghetto with dozens of other Poles to scare off potential helpers, it didn’t work. Poles continued to aid Jews even with this threat of death.
