Its important to note that the #LoanCharge doesn’t enforce what the law was at the time (which has now been decided by the courts - that the employer was liable), but instead enforces what #HMRC would have liked the law to be at the time (but then lost this argument in court).

#LoanCharge control narrative has changed, after several investigations, parliamentary debates and #LoanChargeAPPG receipt of high volume impact statements. It is no longer credible to claim that loan arrangements were illegal, evasion, or only involves highly paid individuals.

The Treasury Committee has not decided to do any work on the #LoanCharge in the near term, according to a letter sent by Mel Stride. This is despite concerns raised by @loanchargeAPPG that scheme promoters are still targeting #NHS workers. yorkshirepost.co.uk/business/treas…
HMRC case workers see LC victims as low hanging fruits on the way to securing their own bonus payments. Court action is the only way to resolve this it seems. Just hope that this can be solved before others take their lives.
@Jesse_Norman as the minister with complete oversight of the shambolic HMRC and the treasury describing the users of these schemes as ‘victims’ you are 100% responsible for this poor nurses fate. She helps save lives, she’s not a tax expert. Shameful.
We’ve just had a heartbreaking email from a nurse who’s JUST had a (1st) letter from @HMRCgovuk. She was missold a scheme following the introduction of the IR35 offpayroll rules to the public sector. She’s facing a big tax bill she won’t be able to pay. When will #HMRC stop this?
Totally agree, this #dentist had a suspected heart attack due to #LoanCharge. As @Jesse_Norman pontificates that 'too good to be true', for thousands is far from truth.

I feel a deep sense of responsibility for not being able to figure out what was going on when this person contacted me in April looking for reasons as to why she and others like her were not allowed to supply perfectly good - life-saving - PPE. Answers emerging now, it seems.
