Getting a few replies along the lines of "you shouldn't get hate for stuff you have no control over" and I appreciate that but also want to be clear: it's not okay to hate the people who HAVE control over it either. Whether or not I actually did the thing is irrelevant.
Personally, I went numb to the online hatespew brigade a long time ago. But people in my position - let alone those who AREN'T in public-facing roles - shouldn't have to deaden ourselves to survive on social media.
I'd like to think that the people following me on here don't need to hear this so I'm not really sure who I'm saying this for, but: No amount of "passion" - especially for something like a video game - justifies threatening someone's life or livelihood.
I know that i am going through a tough deal but seeing all of your well wishes has boosted my spirit tremendously. Thank you to everyone for your support and your prayers and your kindness and I am going to beat this cancer so that I can go on the air again.
