I low-key feel bad for Urana bc they are such an incredible mangaka and create such compelling and complex characters but the expectations everyone has about the backstory of some characters are INCREDIBLE HIGH
This basically admits in their own words that A. The production committee had the final say B. That Urana was only a consultant ( meaning someone who could only give advice but not make decisions ) C. They had the final say

Urana-sensei is the coolest. Im sure there are manga authors who wouldn’t even go that far as to try to even ASK for certain things like she did. Like actors of African descent and asking specifically for them to not do blackface. And she’s being transparent about it.
