Bad design: someone worked really hard on it, and then a lot of people said, "yeahh."
do you ever think about the fact that podcasts are so called because they were first on iPods? and now iPods are way less common but podcasts are more common??
For those who don’t know it and might need it (I think we all do), ‘apricity’ is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.
one day i’ll make the “power parfait” that’s been on the back of grape nuts boxes for….. ??? 20 years??
After a long time of mostly coding, I’m working on a condensed-timeline design project at work and finding it very easy to get caught up in making mock-ups and not want to end my day. Something something job satisfaction.
Doing probably the most in-depth personal coding project I’ve ever done: fetching items from all 4 wedding registries to display in one list on a wix site.
I think it’s good to eliminate “just” from your technical explanation vocabulary (“Just type in…”) because it minimizes what could be a new or strange concept to the person you’re talking to. Especially true when you don’t know everything about their background (so, always).
i spend too much time re-reading my own obsessive bug recaps (“here’s what was wrong and here’s why i fixed it the way i did” or “here’s how we tracked down the issue”) and being like “wow this is good i’m proud of the person who wrote this”

Work gave Amazon gift cards as holiday gifts and I’m like :throws away card: “look at this SICK TIN it came in! Thanks, company!”

it was foreshadowing. cucumber has gone into the “flavor vault” 😭
I got the @drinkspindrift sticker pack and it’s great because stickers but it doesn’t have cucumber!?!??? ☹️ I’m just going to pretend this is it.
i could say, “i use the automatic soap dispenser at work,” but i prefer “every day i make a tiny robot spit bubbles onto my hand.”
I love my new “Return to sender / Not at this address” self-inking stamp
there are a lot of different business models for profiting off of job dissatisfaction—or just the feeling that one must always be striving for a next career step. no, coding course website, i don’t need to be thinking constantly about what skills will impress my future employer.
currently using millimeters to measure distance between stars to draw an american flag. is this treason
several of the bugs i’ve encountered recently have been issues with storing derived state (#redux). really hammering home the “bad. derived state bad. use createSelector.”
iPhone be like "Trust this computer? Yes/No" and I'm like "No. Never trust a computer. Any computer."
